Mohsen Shabib
Dr. Shabib is the Owner/Centre Director at Mathnasium of Southland. He is currently a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Calgary. He has a B.Sc., M.Sc., and PhD in Petroleum Engineering with a strong mathematical background and excellent computer skills. He has over 14 years of multidisciplinary experience in the Research and Development sectors as well as extensive experience in teaching and training different student groups. Dr. Shabib has been tutoring students in math for many years with great success. His methods focus on the improvement of grades and full comprehension of mathematical concepts, all while helping raise his students’ self-confidence and self-esteem in their own math capabilities. He believes that professional tutoring in a friendly, fun, and comfortable environment encourages children to achieve their goals. Dr. Shabib chose to open a Mathnasium of Southland because he likes the Mathnasium method and he believes that kids learn better when they have fun while learning. He knows the value of Mathnasium’s individualized teaching philosophies and understands that the concept of each student according to their abilities and interests is the most effective way to teach math. He is passionate about making sure that your child not only understands important mathematical concepts but that they thrive and succeed throughout the learning process. Dr. Shabib is married with two children and enjoys spending time with his family. In his spare time, he likes to go to the gym and listen to music. He enjoys hiking, especially in Banff National Park hiking trails.

All students begin their Mathnasium journey with a diagnostic assessment that pinpoints what they already know and what they still need to learn.
Using assessment-based insights, we will create a personalized learning plan for each student. Our detailed plan takes students step-by-step from where they are to where they need to go.
Once their personalized learning plan is ready and the pace of weekly math sessions established, students can start working with their math tutor in-center or by logging into live online sessions with them.
Our caring, specially trained tutors work with elementary, middle, and high school students of all skill levels looking to learn and master any K-12 math class and topic, including Algebra, Geometry, and Calculus.

Mathnasium provides premium value by combining a superior learning experience with an efficient structure that keeps costs low. There is a flat enrollment fee for our program, and students attend regularly—much like a gym membership. We recommend that they attend Mathnasium 2-3 times per week as attending less frequently will slow results and attending too often could lead to student burnout.
