Florida Assessment of Student Thinking (FAST) is a statewide progress monitoring assessment designed to track student development throughout the school year.
The FAST assesses:
The assessments are administered three times per year to monitor students' academic progress and ensure they meet Florida's educational standards.
Students take the FAST math test three times per year: typically, in the fall, winter, and spring.
Achievement levels in the FAST range from Level 1 to Level 5. A Level 3 score signifies that students are performing at grade level.
FAST test scores are primarily for informational purposes, helping to identify areas where students might need additional instruction and support.
While these results guide instructional adjustments and support, the final exam at the end of the year provides a summative score to assess overall mastery of grade-level content standards and readiness for the next grade.

To start their Mathnasium enrollment, students take part in a diagnostic assessment which allows us to identify their knowledge gaps and strengths.
We use assessment-based insights to create a personalized learning plan that will put your student on the best path towards achieving their academic goals.
Typically, we recommend 2 to 3 math tutoring sessions per week. However, our tutors may suggest a different frequency of sessions based on each student’s specific goals and needs.
We recommend starting the FAST math tutoring early to allow the student enough time to learn and master the math concepts they'll face on the test.
